Whitcliff McKay

Whitcliff "Ronald Moore" McKay, 90 years old, of Ocala, Florida passed away on September 25, 2018. He was a native of Diamond, East Bank Demerara in Guyana and a longtime resident of New York City before making the move to Ocala, Florida in 2006.Ronald or "Pops" as he is affectionately called grew up in Grove, Guyana. He was educated at the Diamond Government School and studied Auto Body and Mechanics at Diamond Sugar Estate.He was preceded in death by his parents Mildred Pembleton and Albert Moore; his wives Hectorine and Jean; his siblings Victorine McKay (Linda), Benjamin Thompson, Carlton McCallum, and Ianthe Duke (Girley); his mother-in-law and friend Lucilia Hendricks. His son Joseph McKay and daughter Michelle McKay also preceded him to heaven. His life-long friend and brother, Ivan Chung received him on the other side.This great son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, great- grandfather and friend is survived by his beloved of thirty-one years, his wife, Cecilia McKay. He is the third oldest of seven children and is survived by the following: Siblings - Ignatius De Souza and Joshua Pollard; Children - Colleen Collins, Ivan Moore, Gordon Allen, Cleveland Allen, Roxanne Chung, Ronald McKay, Denise Soo Hong, Whitcliff (Woody) McKay, Cleon McKay, Tamara Hendricks and Zadia Reid; Brother-in-laws: Cedric Smith; Hendricks - John, Pedro, Evan, Rogelio, Celestino, Alejandro and Patricio and Ricardo Jones; Sister-in-laws: Dorcas (Urani) De Souza, Claudette Smith, Hendricks - Carmen, Esmin, Nereida, Elba, Arelis and Martha, Perlina Bennett and Eneida Jones; Daughter-in-laws: Kelly, Claudette, Donna, Rose, Sherrie, Vanessa,Theresa, Mary, Denise and Sparkle; Son-in-laws: Neville Chung, Anthony Soo Hung, Winslow Collins, Delano King, Gary Soares and Khalid Reid.He has fifty one grandchildren: Tiffany, Ceon, Christopher, Shane, Simone, Amberlyn, Kelland, Gordon Jr., Dwayne, Antonio-Yoyo, Anaka, Etienne, Giovanni, Anouskha, Natascha, Shauntee, Denzel, Mark, Urissa, Antoine, Lashanda, Nichelle, Nevin, Nevannie, Michael, Regan, Rhonda, Rolanda, Rihanna, Theron, Anthony- Antonio, Brittiani, Gaberilla, Latifa, Shanise, Shanequa, Chyanne, Alexia, Aliayaha, Shania, Mariah, Ayuana, Natalie, Jemel, Kiara, Destiny, Jalen, Sarayah, Jenes, Joshua, and Jizelle.He has 56 great grand-children: Jocelyn, Jonathan, Alryah, Mia, Christopher Jr., Shontell, Ciara, Gianna, Joseph, Thezni, Caleb, Jahira, Jahmillian, Kahlani, Mekhi, Amari, Bryan, Jahmani, Javonte, Jahliah, Jahmarley, Jahniya, Skylar, Naquan, Jovanni, Malachi, Michael Jr., Mackellie Dwayne Jr., Nyajhai, Daiquan, Denitia, Dahmari, Darielle, Lamauri, Laquan, Alexis, Antoine Jr., Ah'Sir, Ah'Mari, Antrando, Angelica, Denillo, Elvin, Evadny, Christian, Kemani, Celina, Giannelly, Giovano, Reanity, Hesley, Amellia, and many more. He was the cousin of Neville Sutherland, Clarice and Jenny Culley, Ina and Juliet Joseph, and others. "Family" extends to the Aarons, the Chungs, the Smiths and Sybil Gray. He has so very many who called him friend.Ronald was a man with grace and dignity. He loved life and embraced all the aspects of life. He was a sharp dresser, soft spoken, knowledgeable, full of wisdom, Godly and endearing. He attended every family event and celebrated all holidays in family style. Recreation to Ronald was spending time with his family, fixing cars, fishing, watching baseball games, gardening and traveling. He loved to travel with his life partner Cecilia by car, air, train or ship. They've traveled to Guyana, Panama, Europe, and North and South America many times, but his favorite place to go was Las Vegas. Ronald lived a fully successful and eventful life. He was loved by the many people whose lives he touched. We are all fortunate to have shared some of the 90 years, 4 months and 24 days he spent here on earth with him. A Celebration of Life Funeral Service will be held on Friday, October 5, 2018 @ 11:00AM at St. Jude Catholic Community, 443 Marion Oaks Drive, Ocala with burial to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens in Ocala. The family will receive friends on Thursday, October 4th from 6:00-8:00PM also at St. Jude Catholic Community. He was especially blessed by the Word of God Psalm 23: 5-6 "Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil: my up runneth over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever".
