VIVIAN JOHNSTON 08/23/1935 – 08/12/2023 Get ready heaven! Here she comes - a new angel is checking in. Vivian Johnston received her wings and gracefully transitioned on August 12, 2023, at the age of 87. Her time on this Earth was a testament to love, kindness, and unwavering devotion to her family and friends. Vivian is survived by her loving husband of 38 years, Joe Johnston, her adoring sons Joe Rispoli and Fred Rispoli (Dottie), stepson Christopher Johnston, and a legacy of five grandchildren: Jessica (Chris) Lietz, Nick Rispoli, Sara Jo (Tom) Charles, Jonathan Rispoli, and Nathan (Marcy) Warr. Eight great-grandchildren, Harley, Lawson, Adeline, Leannah, Laken, Austin, Alyssa, and Alex brought immense joy to her later years. Her warm embrace also extended to a vast extended family and countless cherished friends. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Gina. Born in Staten Island, New York, Vivian's journey led her to Florida, where she found her true calling. She owned and operated the beloved Italian restaurant, Rispoli's. Later, she dedicated over 30 years of her life to Ocala Regional Medical Center, where she worked in the cafeteria and provided not just care but also a boundless well of compassion to anyone she met there. Vivian's heart truly belonged to her family. She reveled in watching Gator sports with her beloved husband Joe and cherished cozy movie nights at her son Joseph's home. To her grandchildren, she was affectionately known as "Nan." Nan was the architect of cherished Christmas memories, her love evident in every thoughtful gift and meal shared together. She relished shopping and breakfast dates with her grandkids, play time with her great grandson, Harley, and always enjoyed telling anyone who listened how proud she was of all her loved ones. Her greatest mission was to keep her family united and make sure they all knew just how loved they were. But Vivian was more than a loving family matriarch; she was a shining example of kindness to all who crossed her path. She never met a stranger, always offered a helping hand, and never judged anyone too harshly. Her infectious laughter, sweet disposition, and the warmth of her hugs were there for anyone who needed them. Her legacy is one of boundless love, kindness without limits, and an enduring spirit of joy. While her family is heartbroken by her departure, they find solace in the belief that they will one day be reunited with her in Heaven.
