Robert Richard Marlow

With profound respect and cherished memories, we honor the life of Robert Richard “Bob” Marlow, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, who passed away in Ocala, Florida, on May 6, 2025. Born in Brooklyn, New York, on December 3, 1945, to Robert and Gertrude Marlow, Bob’s early years were spent in St. Remy, NY, where his family relocated in 1946. He graduated from Kingston High School in 1963, laying the foundation for a life marked by dedication and service. In 1966, Bob answered the call to duty, proudly serving his nation in the U.S. Marine Corps until 1970. His commitment included a year of courageous service in the Vietnam War, a testament to his bravery and unwavering patriotism. Upon returning home, Bob embarked on a successful career with Bell Telephone Co in 1972, remaining a steadfast presence through its various transformations until his well-deserved retirement in 2001. Beyond his professional life, Bob held a deep affection for horses and the camaraderie of the golf course. He treasured moments spent vacationing with family and friends, finding particular joy in the warmth of Florida, its golf courses, and the magic of Disney. In 2013, he embraced the Florida sunshine as his new home. Bob’s legacy of love and family lives on through his beloved wife of many years, Patricia “Pat” Marlow of Ocala, Florida. He is also survived by his loving children, Melissa (Maurice) Tessier and Debra (Jose) Berastegui, and his stepson, Michael Bonse. His memory will be forever cherished by his eight grandchildren: Whitney (Daniel) Emmett, Reanna (Joshua) Davis, Maurice Tessier, Marlow Tessier, Gabriel Bonse, Austin Bonse, Jose Berastegui, and Justin Berastegui, as well as his several great-grandchildren, his sister Nancy (William) Carter, and numerous nieces and nephews. Bob was preceded in death by his parents, his stepdaughter, Kelly Bonse, and his brother, Raymond Malone, Sr. Though they are no longer with us, their memory remains a part of his enduring story. A memorial service to honor Bob’s life will be held at Un Nuevo Comienzo Ocala, located at 55 Palm Road, Ocala, FL, on May 17, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. Additionally, a Celebration of Life will take place in New York at a later date to be announced, allowing friends and family in his home state to pay their respects. In remembrance of Bob’s generous spirit and his deep love for horses and their therapeutic impact, especially on veterans, the family suggests that in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be made to his cherished charity: Marion Therapeutic Riding Association (MTRA), 6850 SE 41st Ct, Ocala, FL 34480.
