Obituary of Maureen CorcoranMaureen M. (Morton) Corcoran, 70, passed away at her home on Friday, March 13, 2015. She was the widow of Francis "Corky" Corcoran, her loving husband of thirty-one years. She was born April 30, 1944 in Waterbury, CT, to Joseph and Katherine (Allman) Morton, and is survived by her daughter, Colleen Corcoran of Ocala, FL. She also leaves behind two brothers, Michael Morton of Epping, NH, and Dennis Morton and wife Shirley, of Waterbury, CT; as well as several nieces and nephews, and numerous great nieces and nephews. She also leaves behind her neighbors who she considered family, numerous close friends, and her two devoted dogs, Ginger and Pebbles who sat diligently by her side. Maureen was a graduate of Waterbury Catholic High School, and she loved and embraced her religion on a daily basis. She loved animals; golfing with her husband and friends; duck pin bowling; vacationing with her family; yard work and gardening. She was also an avid New York Yankee baseball fan, loved the UCONN Women's Basketball team, and became a big fan of NASCAR Racing. Before moving to Florida, Maureen worked in numerous different banks in the Waterbury area. She continued working in the banking industry after moving to Ocala, where she was a teller at Citizens First Bank in the Villages. Her co-workers, as well as her steady customers, meant the world to her. She was a loving and devoted wife and mother, who has now been reunited with the love of her life. A viewing will be held at the Roberts Funeral Home, East Chapel, 2739 SE Maricamp Rd., Ocala FL (352-792-9944), on Friday, March 20, 2015 from 5pm to 8pm. A Funeral Mass will be held at Blessed Trinity Catholic Church, 5 SE 17th St., Ocala FL, on Saturday, March 21, 2015 at 11am. Graveside burial to follow at Good Shepherd Memorial Gardens, 5050 SW 20th St., Ocala, FL, immediately following the Mass. A Memorial Mass will be held at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, 785 Highland Ave., Waterbury, CT, on Saturday, March 28, 2015 at 11am.
