Marie D'Orsi

Marie D'Orsi, 83, passed away peacefully and went to be with her Lord and Savior on the morning of 10 September 2021. Born in Orlando, Florida and a Florida resident the majority of her life, she spent her twilight years in the Ocala, Florida area and the past 12 years as a resident of the Hampton Manor Deerwood Assisted Living Center in Ocala. Marie was a graduate of Boone High School in Orlando and Sante Fe Community College in Gainesville, Florida. She was employed over the years as both a waitress and a security guard. She loved passing her time away by socializing and conversing with family and friends, old and new, about the fond and precious memories of the past. She was pre deceased by three husbands over the years including Richard Aldrich, Marvin Voliva, and John D'Orsi, her parents Fred and Alicia (Koon) Malone, and two brothers Fred Eugene Malone and Robert Lee Malone. She is survived by three daughters: Peggy Sue Beattie (John) of Crownsville Maryland, Glenda Irene Watson (Gary) of Newberry, Florida and Dorraine Elaine Wheatley (Kevin) of Xenia, Ohio. Also seven grandchildren: Felicia Barbera, Christopher Blanton, Lori Holloway, Joel Pearson, Danny Taddeo, Brittany Powell and Bryan Powell, thirteen great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. She is also survived by her dear older sister Alma Mae Hooks of Orlando, Florida and numerous extended family and friends. A viewing and small memorial service will be held at the Roberts Funeral Home East, 2739 SE Maricamp Road in Ocala, Florida on Monday, 20 September from 10am - 12pm followed by burial services at the Thompkins Cemetery, SE 179 Terrace Lochloosa, Florida on Monday 20 September at 2:00 pm. Contributions: The family requests in lieu of flowers that any who would like to extend their condolences or pay their respects do so by performing an unsolicited act of kindness for someone in need. The family would also like to recognize and extend their deep and sincere thanks and appreciation for all those who have cared for and supported Marie over the years, from her close friends, social workers, staff at the Hampton Manor Assisted Living Center and the many doctors and nurses at the various local Ocala Medical Facilities.
