Johnathan Michael Hannah

Johnathan Michael Hannah, a beloved father, son, brother, and friend, passed away on September 6th, 2025, in Ocala, Florida, at the age of 42. Born on February 12, 1983, in Seoul, South Korea, John lived a life filled with compassion, laughter, and an honest smile that drew people to him. He graduated from Belleview High School in 2001 and later earned his associate degree from the College of Central Florida. John went on to work as a Physical Therapist Assistant at Encompass Health and Rehab, where his deep curiosity about the human body and his caring nature touched many lives. John will be remembered for his humor, his kindness, his love of music, and above all, his love for his five beautiful children: Elizabeth, Jordan, Isabella, Liliana and Xander. They were his greatest joy and the heart of his life. A natural athlete, John had an energy and talent that seemed limitless. He could throw a football with ease, face a 75 mph fastball in the batting cages, or find his way to the hoop on the basketball court, earning him the nickname “Yao Ming”. Though injuries sometimes kept him sidelined, his love for the game never faded. A lifelong sports fan, John shared a passion for the Michigan Wolverines with his father, cheered for the Atlanta Braves, and passed down his admiration for Michael Jordan by naming his son after him. When he wasn’t playing sports, John enjoyed going to the gym. He loved to joke around, often flexing and slapping his biceps as he watched them grow, a moment that showed his playful spirit. Beyond sports, John found joy in music, often singing along to R&B in the car or sitting down at a piano or guitar. His love of music was something he passed on to his son, Jordan. He also loved cooking and experimenting with new recipes, though spicy food was always his favorite. His big heart, laughter, and endless talents made him unforgettable to all who knew him. John is survived by his parents, Albert Lee Hannah and Okyo Hannah; his brother, James Hannah; his sister, Gisun Kim; his five cherished children, Elizabeth, Jordan, and Isabella, with their mother, Laura Boback; and Liliana and Xander, with their mother, Heather Crossan. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 13, 2025, 11:00AM at 6241 SW State Rd 200, Ocala, FL 34476, with Son Min Suk of the Korean Baptist Church of Gainesville officiating. Burial will follow at Highland Memorial Park, 1515 NE 3rd St Ocala, FL 34470. Friends and family are invited to attend and celebrate John’s life.
