Glenda Jean Serrano BoyettGlenda Jean was born on July 16, 1954. On that day our father was so thrilled that he traded in their old car for a new convertible just to bring her home from the hospital. She was dearly loved and adored. Glenda was a social human being from birth. She had charm that surpassed what many of us only dream of having. But it was not just charm, it was genuine love for others. As her youngest sister I have so many memories of her loving attentiveness to me, taking me with her even when I didn't want to go because she loved me so much. As a grown woman I know how singular her love for other people was. Glenda would give the shirt off her back if she thought it would help another human being. She deserves that acknowledgment. She was truly gifted in homemaking, decorating, cooking, social events and holidays. She was mostly gifted in loving fiercely and without hesitation. In High School she was beloved by all of her classmates and teachers for her kindness and charm. As a woman she was loved and admired by anyone who knew her for those same qualities. She had an incredible sense of humor and could be quite mischievous. One of the best tricks she ever taught me was wrapping a rubber band around the sprayer on the sink on April Fool's Day so that when you turned on the faucet, you would get sprayed with water until you were soaking wet and realized what was happening. I still use that trick every year. We will all miss her incredibly and the absence of her will be everywhere we look. She loved Florida and especially Cedar Key. That is where her ashes will be spread upon her wishes. We will send her off into the universe in the peace and glory she deserves. Surviving Glenda are her husband John Boyett, her two children, Angela Young and Andrew Boyett, her grandson Ascher Young, her siblings Sandra McArthur, James Serrano, and myself, Melinda Serrano Coleman, as well as a host of Aunts and Uncles and nieces and nephews. She left us far too soon. Yet still, she is now at peace with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. May God rest her soul. We will all miss you Glenda Jean.
