Giosue Lenoci

Obituary of Giosue LenociMr. G. E. "Sonny" Lenoci of Ocala, Florida, formerly of Brockton, MA, passed away May 22, 2012. He was born September 1, 1932 to Gaetano and Lucy (Cifello) Lenoci. He graduated from Brockton High in 1951 and participated in sports. His passion was football which he took very seriously and he often spoke of his coach, Frank Saba, and especially the Weymouth games. His nickname, "Sonny" was what folks called him because his given name was in Italian, "GIOSUE", which was simply, Joshua and now the secret is out truth be told. He enjoyed spending time in Onsett at his Aunt Jenny's every summer when the family gathered. One day my friend and I were on the way to my dentist appointment. I pulled into the parking lot, as another car pulled up next to me. As I opened the door, our eyes met. There I saw the most beautiful soft brown eyes I'd ever seen. His window rolled down and he asked me where I was going and I told him I was going to my dentist appointment. He asked me at least 150 questions and needless to say, "I missed my dentist appointment." Sonny was employed by the City Brockton, as a truck driver and belonged to several clubs; The Conti Memorial, the Club National, The Moose Lodge and the VFW. When we married in 1970, we raised the children and took our vacations in Wareham or in NH. Life goes on and we get older, so we vacationed in Aruba with our dear friends Ann and Dick Savignano. The sun rise was beautiful and the sunsets even more so. The winters were cold and the snow seemed deeper and we began looking at homes in Florida. We moved to Ocala in 2006. Sonny is survived by his wife of 42 years, Nancy (Rollins) Lenoci of Brockton, MA; daughter Jennifer (Lenoci) Julius, her husband, Barry of MA; son Paul R. Donovan, his wife Jan of FL and daughter Sharon Seifert and her husband Douglas of MA; nine grandchildren, Brian, Benjamin, Kevin, Connor, Andrew, Hannah, Emily, Daniel; Bethany; sister Lucia Galavotti of Wareham, MA; niece Lucyann Dias of Braintree, MA and several cousins, Lucia Pins, Terry and Camella all of MA and Mike Cifello of Florida. We encourage family and friends to stop in to visit and naturally to stay for a few days or even weeks at a time. If you're driving through, stop in. A memorial service will be at the Southwest Christian Church 9045 SW 60 Ave. in Ocala on Monday May 28th at 11AM. Roberts Funeral Homes Bruce Chapel West made the arrangements.
