Garrett Howard Young

Garrett Howard Young, 49, of Ocala, Florida, passed away peacefully on March 18, 2026, surrounded by the love of family and friends, after a courageous 10-month battle with stage IV neuroendocrine cancer. Garrett was born on August 4, 1976, in Annapolis, Maryland, to James and Gloria Young. He spent much of his early life in Hollywood, Florida, before relocating to Ocala in 2007. He earned his nursing degree in 2005 and dedicated much of his career to serving in the neonatal intensive care unit, where he cared for countless families with compassion and skill. Driven by a passion for learning, Garrett went on to earn three master’s degrees within the nursing profession. In addition to his medical career, Garrett was a visionary entrepreneur with a deep love for sports. He pursued multiple business ventures centered around that passion, most notably founding OG1 Group, where he designed and created custom sports apparel—including jerseys, 3D logos, and uniforms—for youth organizations and major league teams. Garrett was blessed with a large and loving family. He married his best friend, Tiffany Young, on June 2, 2000, in Hollywood, Florida. Together they shared 25 years of marriage and 30 years of love and partnership. They were proud parents to six children, whom Garrett loved deeply and devoted himself to wholeheartedly. Garrett was a loving father, devoted husband, mentor, coach, teacher, son, and friend. Known as the life of every gathering, he had a gift for making others feel welcome and valued. He cherished time spent with family and friends, whether traveling, attending sporting events, or simply manning the grill and bringing people together. Garrett is survived by his beloved wife, Tiffany, and their four children: Ryan (27) and his wife Julia, Camdyn (16), Carter (13), and Dawson (8). He is also survived by his mother, Gloria Young, and his siblings, Brandon Young, Cheryl Ritter, and Evelyn Young. He was preceded in death by his father, James Young, and his two infant sons, Beckett Young and Maddux Young. Garrett will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. His legacy of love, strength, and generosity will live on in the hearts of those he touched. A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at Roberts of Ocala Downtown Chapel, 606 SW 2nd Ave, Ocala, FL 34471 on March 28th, 2026, at 4pm with a reception to follow at the family home. The family will be receiving friends for a gathering one hour prior to his service, from 3:00pm to 4:00pm, at Roberts of Ocala
