Edward R Mills

Edward R. Mills, 92, of Citra, FL, passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by family on December 19th, 2025. Edward knew Jesus and the truth that we see in the scriptures. Psalms‬ ‭16:11‬ tell us that “In Your presence is fullness of joy; At Your right hand are pleasures forevermore.” We rest confident today and forever that Edward is full of joy in the presence of the Lord. Edward was born in Kittanning, PA to Roy and Annabelle Mills on August 28, 1933. His fierce drive and entrepreneurial spirit led him throughout his life. He worked relentlessly in every career endeavor and hobby that he pursued. The fruits of his labor were evident in the people he touched and the life that he lived daily. His love for serving the community of Ocala through great food and company will always be remembered by those that knew him. Edward found a passion for running dogs, raising horses , and later raising goats. He did all with excellence in different seasons of his life. Edward also served proudly in the United States Army. Edward is survived by his wife, Peggy Mills of Citra. His 3 children, Edward Mills (Jeannine), Stacey Mattocks (Jake), and Bret Mills (Meghann). His grandchildren, Collin Mills (Elizabeth), Austin Mattocks, Marissa Mattocks, Adaline Mills, and Deacon Mills. He is preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Annabelle Mills. His first wife, Marjorie Mills and his siblings, Jim Mills, Timothy Mills, Janet Moyer, and Shirley Smith. His surviving siblings include, Margaret Rowan, Betsy Wright, Robert Mills, and Rick Mills. "Death can come for ya any place, any time. It's never welcomed. But if you've done all you can do, and it's your best, in a way I guess you're ready for it” -John Wayne (The Cowboys) Edward instilled in his entire family that you work hard, persevere, and never quit. This is the legacy that we carry on in his absence. Funeral service is still pending.
