Tributes

Robert was born in Hammond, Indiana, on November 8, 1940, to Marie and Robert Henry Berger. He was a graduate of Merrillville High School in 1958 and served as a medic in the Army Reserves. He was the longtime owner of Duplicator Business Systems, an office supply and repair business. Robert lived in Schererville, Indiana, for 22 years before he relocated to Florida in 1998. He was a resident of Ocala, Florida, the last five years of his life. Robert is survived by Joan (Trudell), his cherished wife of 57 years; brother Richard (Marie) Berger of Eddyville, Kentucky; son Robert (Terri) Berger of Ridge Manor, Florida; son Brian (Ann) Berger of Crown Point, Indiana; daughter Wendy (Michael) Jasinski of Munster, Indiana; daughter Shauna (Travis) Eltzroth of North Port, Florida; son Christopher Berger (Keriann Panno) of Clarksburg, Maryland; and 10 grandchildren, ranging in age from 1 to 30. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister Rolonda (Leroy) Fisher; and Sister Kay Francis Berger. Bob was known for his love for his family, devotion to his Roman Catholic faith, and his brilliant artistic creations. His humor and warmth will be sorely missed. His funeral will be held at Blessed Trinity Catholic Church on June 15 at 11 a.m. His cremated remains will be interred at St. Michael's the Archangel Cemetery in Schererville on July 18.
