Mary Dean

May 5, 1939 - March 12, 2018

Mary Dean, 78, of Homosassa, Florida, returned to her heavenly home on March 12, 2018 at 5:40pm after a valiant battle with cancer with her family by her side. Her devotion to her family and her firm belief in God supported her in her struggle and ultimately gave her peace. Mary was born to the late Albert and Mildred Farrin in Saugus, Massachusetts on May 5, 1939. On December 17, 1977, Mary married her best friend, John Dean, in Seminole, Florida. Their marriage was a magnificent love story and a perfect example set for their children. Mary had 4 children. Three boys from a previous marriage, John, Philip and Darrin and one daughter Jacqueline, with John. Mary was feisty, knew exactly what she wanted in life and had a heart of gold. She was a great friend to have and always leant a helping hand to those in need. Mary had a passion for painting, gardening and playing the organ. She was also a lover of music and cherished songs her husband would sing to her, by legends such as Engelbert Humperdink, Neil Diamond, Elvis Presley and Tom Jones. She was a devoted, loving, understanding and compassionate wife, mother and grandmother. She is dearly missed by her loved ones, who celebrate the fact that she is at peace with her creator. Mary is survived by her husband, John; her sons John, Philip and Darrin French; her daughter and son-in-law Anthony and Jacqueline Abbondolo; her grandchildren James Dub and Randy Gates lll; her brothers, Raymond and Ricky Farrin; and sisters, Priscilla Ballagh and Jean Cole. Mary was cremated at Roberts of Ocala Funeral and Cremations in Ocala, Florida onMarch 15, 2018and reunited with her husband and daughter.
