David Slaga

David Michael Slaga, 66 of Morriston, FL, passed awat on Thursday, March 3, 2022 at Hospice of Marion County in Summerfield, FL. David was born in Rome, NY to Michael J. and Eleanor Slaga on October 22, 1955. He went to Holland Patent High School in Holland Patent, NY and graduated in 1973. David was owner/operator of Slaga Trucking for many years. Currently, he was a mine superintendent for Commercial Industrial Corporation in Ocala, FL for the last 8 years. David is survived by his daughter Kelly Slaga of Spring Hill, FL, two sons and daughter in laws Mike and Keri Slaga of Spring Hill, FL, and Matt and Kyla Slaga of Talbott, TN; one brother Richard (Luanne Peters) Slaga of Floyd, NY; five grandchildren Tyler, Brianne, Alexia, Elizabeth, and Hailey; two nephews RJ and Patrick; and ex-wife Mary Ann Slaga. David was predeceased by his parents Michael J. and Eleanor, sister in law Laurie, and longtime companion Flo. Visitation will be held at Roberts Downtown Chapel, 606 SW 2nd Avenue, Ocala, FL 34471 on Wednesday, March 9, 2022 from 5-7 PM. Burial will take place at St. Mary's Cemetery in Rome, NY in the summer.
