Obituary of William PelskiPELSKI, William Frank, age 83, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 27, 2015, in Belleview, FL, following a long struggle with Alzheimer's Disease. Bill was born on October 11, 1931, in Ware, MA, to Frank and Stephanie Pelski. He was married to Eva for 46 years, and with her was blessed with 5 children, Donna Dumas (Gary), Mark Pelski, Linda Khoury (Philip), Brian Pelski (Jeanne) and Bruce Pelski (Jean), who in turn blessed him with 9 grandchildren, Joelene Yates (Billy), Michael Khoury, Aaron Dumas, Amber Dumas, Stephanie Pelski, Jessica Pelski, Preston Pelski, Andrew Pelski and Peyton Pelski, and 2 great-grandchildren, Eva Yates and Ethan Yates. He is pre-deceased by his brother, Ray Pelski (Jane), and survived by his sister, Jane Robertshaw (Jeff, deceased), brother, Al Pelski (Sandy), sister, Dottie O'Brien (Terry) and many nieces and nephews.At age 23, after honorably serving in the United States Navy during the Korean War, Bill moved with Eva and their 2-year old daughter, Donna, to South Florida, where he quickly established himself as a successful real estate developer and home builder in the Fort Lauderdale and Pompano Beach communities of Garden Acres and Garden Isles. Bill's public service continued as he became a City Commissioner of Pompano Beach, Vice Mayor of Pompano Beach and eventually Mayor of Pompano Beach, after which he was appointed Director of the Federal Housing Administration ("FHA") of South Florida. After leaving public service, Bill became a cattle rancher in Central Florida, and in 1977, he retired to Ocala, FL.From an early age in rural Massachusetts, Bill developed his lifelong passion for the great outdoors. He was an avid fisherman, world-class hunter and competitive target shooter. To those who knew him, Bill conveyed a "larger than life" presence. He will forever be loved and missed by his family and friends.The family will receive friends at Blessed Trinity Catholic Church, 5 S.E. 17 St., Ocala, FL 34471, on Friday, October 9, from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. A funeral mass will be held at Blessed Trinity Catholic Church at 10:30 a.m., followed directly by a reception lunch. Interment with Military Honors will take place at Florida National Cemetery, 6502 S.W. 102 Ave., Bushnell, FL 33513, at 2 p.m.In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions to the Alzheimer's & Dementia Alliance for Education & Support (352-671-9600), P.O.
