Tuesday morning 07/29/2025 Bill passed away Bill was 68 years old when he left us, but the love, strength, and kindness he gave during his time here will live on far beyond the years he spent with us. To many, Bill was known as a “tough cop”—firm, principled, and strong. But those of us who truly knew him knew the real Bill: the sweetest, most gentle soul you could ever meet. Behind that uniform was a man of deep faith, a tender heart, and a constant willingness to lend a helping hand to anyone who needed it. Bill loved the Lord with all his heart. He loved his family, his pets, his friends, and he loved life in the most grounded and beautiful way. He was a man of quiet strength and steadfast devotion. He was a rock to those who leaned on him—and many of us did. For 27 years, I had the blessing of being his wife. And in that time, I was lucky enough to not only love him but to call him my best friend. He was the person I talked to about everything and nothing. The one I turned to when I needed advice, comfort, or just someone to sit with in silence. That absence now feels impossibly large. Bill was also an incredible father. He was always there for his children, through every joy and every struggle. He didn’t just love them—he showed up for them. He guided them, protected them, and believed in them. I’ll never forget one Valentine’s Day when Bill realized he had forgotten to get a gift. Most people would’ve panicked and rushed to the store. But not Bill. On his way home, he found a turtle in the road. He picked it up, walked in the door, and with that signature grin of his said, “Happy Valentine’s Day.” That little act of thoughtfulness and humor sparked something unexpected—and now, thanks to him, we have over 20 turtles and tortoises. Just one of many small, beautiful legacies he leaves behind. There are no words big enough to sum up the man Bill was. But if you knew him, even for a moment, you were better for it. He lived his life in service to others, grounded in faith, filled with love. His absence is a deep ache—but his presence in our memories, in our hearts, and in the lives he touched, is eternal. Bill, thank you for every moment. Thank you for your love, your laughter, and your unshakable strength. I will miss you more than words can ever express. You were my heart, my home, and I will carry you with me, always. No services are planned at this time. Bill left us telling his friends that hew as fine and getting better. He wanted to be remembered as that strong tough guy.
