SONIA ECHAZABAL MICKIEWICZ GREER With heavy hearts and great sorrow, the Greer, Echazabal & Scherlacher families announce the passing of our amazing, vibrant, caring, loving, welcoming and exceptionally charismatic wife, mother, sister and friend. Sonia Echazabal Mickiewicz Greer, 74, of Dunnellon, Florida passed away June 9, 2023 at West Marion Hospital. Sonia was born on July 9th to Julio & Ophelia Echazabal in Brooklyn, New York. At a young age they moved to Miami Florida where she spent her childhood & young adult years eventually moving to Sunrise, FL where she raised her daughter Lisa. Graduating from Coal Park High in 1968 she went on to college at Miami Dade. From there she worked as an engineering clerk and was promoted to Admin. Assistant then to Assistant Staff Manager for Bellsouth where she worked for 32 years. She retired and went to work for the Town of Pembroke Park as an Administrative Assistant to the Town Administrator and Commissioners. Sonia found a love for professional clowning, and it changed her life in amazing ways. One of the biggest was in 1995 when she met her husband Dale (who also became a clown). From then on, they were inseparable. Sonia enjoyed gardening, feeding & watching the birds in her yard, camping, crafting, singing & cooking/baking for those she cared about. She loved to spoil her pets as well as her loved ones. Her laugh was contagious and her smile bright. She will be forever missed. She is survived by her husband, Dale Greer of Dunnellon FL, Daughters Lisa Scherlacher Albuquerque, NM, Kelly Gridley, Seattle, WA, Sons Jason Greer, Seattle, WA, and Scott Gridley, Eagle Lake, FL, Grandson Ryan Gridley, Seattle, WA, Great Grandson Jason Gridley, Seattle, WA, and her brother Jimmy Echazabal, Prescott, AZ. Please join us for a remembrance of all the wonderful things that she was to all of us. A Celebration of Life Reception will be held on Saturday August 19th from 11:00am - 2:00pm at The Garden Worship Center, 12740 SE HWY 484, Belleview, FL 34420.
