Sharon Smolky-Stancil, a beacon of warmth and joy, passed away peacefully on May 11, 2025, in Silver Springs, FL. Born on December 7, 1959, in Columbus, OH, Sharon's infectious laughter and selfless spirit touched the lives of all who knew her. Her radiant personality and friendly demeanor were as memorable as her dazzling red hair, which received compliments wherever she went. Sharon graduated from Willingsboro High School in Willingsboro, NJ, in 1978, where she laid the foundation for a lifetime of friendships and community involvement. She furthered her education by obtaining a Medical Assistant Certification, showcasing her dedication to helping others and her passion for the medical field. For 26 years, Sharon was a cherished employee at Publix Supermarket in the Bakery and Deli department. Known affectionately as the "cookie lady" by her colleagues and customers, she delighted in sharing her love for baking with the community. Her culinary talents were only matched by her generosity, as she often gifted her delicious creations to those around her. Beyond her professional life, Sharon advocated tirelessly for causes close to her heart, including St. Jude's, the March of Dimes, and the Humane Society. Her commitment to these organizations reflected her deep compassion and desire to make a difference in the world. Family was the cornerstone of Sharon's life. She shared an unbreakable bond with her brother, Steven Smolky, who was not only her sibling but also her best friend. She is also survived by her daughter, Esther O'Roark. Sharon's love extended to her godchildren and many nieces and nephews, with whom she loved spending time, creating lasting memories and imparting her joyful spirit. To describe Sharon as funny, selfless, and friendly is an understatement. She had an extraordinary talent for making people laugh, even in the most challenging times. Her selflessness was evident in every aspect of her life, from her work to her volunteerism, to the way she cared for her family and friends. Sharon's friendliness knew no bounds; she had the unique ability to make everyone feel like they were the most important person in the room. As we say good-bye to Sharon remember her legacy is one of love, kindness, and the joy of giving. She will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her laughter, her kindness, and her delicious cookies will remain in the hearts of her loved ones forever. Rest in peace, dear Sharon, knowing that your spirit lives on in the countless lives you've touched.
