Obituary of Roberta GivensIt is with great sadness that we announce the passing of an amazing woman, the matriarch of the Givens Clan, Roberta Maureen Givens. Bobbi was born in Brooklyn, New York on December 18, 1940. Before marrying, Bobbi was part of a Skate Dancing show and also rode a motorcycle in the "Wheel of Death" during circus and carnival productions. She married her lifetime love, Frank Givens on May 8, 1966. Not only was she a mother of four, she also ran a family day care service in West Palm Beach, Florida for forty years. This day care was so successful that she was honored by Palm Beach County with a distinction for Best Family Day Care in Palm Beach County. As a testament to the type of day care facility she ran, consider that the children who first came to her for care grew up and then brought their own children back to be cared for by "Miss Bobbi." Never one to settle for one thing at a time, Bobbi also ran the scheduling department for two carpet cleaning companies and, during election years, she also managed the local election polls in Greenacres. When she wasn't working or taking care of her own children, Bobbi loved to play Bingo. Anywhere it was possible to find a game going on she was there, most times with her eldest daughter, Patti, but sometimes accompanied by various children and grandchildren. Legend has it that she suffered a mild heart attack at Bingo once and insisted her daughters and granddaughter stay and play her cards as she was taken to the hospital by ambulance. In 1988 she moved to Ocala, Florida to begin retirement with her late husband Frank. They worked hard together and built a nice little farm in Ocklawaha that Bobbi named "Little Cabin in the Woods." Many happy years were spent here by the couple until Frank's death on June 14, 2014. The family is comforted by the fact that Frank and Bobbi will be together again in Heaven as they were for so long on earth. They further smile at the thought that Bobbi has found a new, bigger Bingo Hall to fill with her presence. We also strongly believe that Frank and Bobbi are working together to build a "Cabin in the Clouds."Bobbi is survived by daughter Patti, son Ron, daughter-in-law Kathy, daughter Becky, son-in-law Paul and daughter Keri along with Bobbi's sisters Helen, Joan, Carol and Pat, eight grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Many more called her "Mom" and "Nana" as she was not one to turn any child away no matter how old.She is preceded in death by her mother Gladys, father Arthur, Her brother Arthur E., husband John F.
