Ramon "Ray" Torres

It is with great love and sadness that we announce the passing of Ramon “Ray” Torres, 64, of the Bronx, NY. Ray was born in New York to Ramon Torres Sr. and Eva Velazquez on June 14, 1961. He graduated from Clara Barton High School. He had a variety of occupations over the years but he was most know as a Diesel Bus Mechanic for MTA. His passions included history, music, and science. Ray is survived by his wife, Ada. His daughter, Francia. His dog, Max. He is preceded in death by his father, Ramon Sr., and mother Eva. Before retiring, Ray, Ada and Max moved to Ocala to continue their journey together in their new community and with new friends. Where ever Ray was, he was known for his kindness, sense of humor, his work ethic, and his obsession with Hairbo Gummy Bears. A cherished husband, father, brother, nephew, uncle and friend. He left us peacefully on August 5, 2025 in Ocala, FL, leaving behind a legacy of kindness, curiosity, and a zest for history and science. Ray was a man of many passions. He and his beloved wife, traveled together on numerous cruises, exploring the world and creating unforgettable memories. A dedicated dog lover, he adored his loyal companion Max, whose companionship brought him endless joy. Ray was an avid drone enthusiast and his green thumb was evident in his lush fruit and vegetable gardens, where he found peace and fulfillment. He was also a dedicated stargazer, often spending nights with his telescope, marveling at the moon and stars. Fishing and the shooting range were other major pastimes, offering him tranquility and connection with nature and his friends. He appreciated the finer things in life, always striving for quality and excellence. His love for instruments especially harmonicas reflected his musical spirit and appreciation for simple pleasures. Ray will be deeply missed by all who knew him. His warm spirit, adventurous soul and love for life will forever remain in our hearts. A celebration of his life will be held on Sunday August 17, 2025 from 12pm to 4 pm at The Roberts Ocala West Chapel. There aren’t enough words to truly capture how incredible Ray was. He was always there for everyone, no matter the circumstances—offering a hug, sharing a story, or sharing some laughs. He had an innate sense of knowing when you needed to be lifted up and when you simply needed a comforting shoulder to lean on. He was truly the kindest and most remarkable person anyone could hope to know. To all our Family and friends, far and near, thank you for the love, kindness and support shown to us. Your heartfelt condolences, prayers, and presence have brought us comfort, as we navigate this difficult time. Thank you and God bless you.
