She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend whose presence brought comfort and stability to all who knew her. Nilsa graduated in 1960 after her education in New York. She was known as a hard worker and a woman of many talents, especially in her work as a dog trainer. Her love of animals and her skill in the field led her to operate the prize-winning kennel, Classic Kennel in West Palm Beach, FL where her dedication and expertise earned admiration and respect. She took great pride in her work, approaching it with patience, discipline, and a natural understanding of the animals in her care. Beyond her professional accomplishments, Nilsa was the heart of her family. She was the glue that kept everyone together and made it her mission to ensure those she loved were happy and safe. Her home was a place of warmth, laughter, and comfort, and she found joy in cooking, baking, shopping, and spending time with her sisters and family. She had a creative spirit and a practical mind, and she was known for her ability to make a dollar stretch without ever sacrificing care or quality. Her quiet strength was one of her most defining qualities, guiding her family through many seasons of life. Nilsa was predeceased by her beloved husband, Bill, and by her son, Robert, who passed away in 2021. She is survived by her daughter, Jeanne Lucas, and by her cherished grandchildren, Amanda, Jordan, Bobby Jr., Nelson, Vasilli, Emily, and Cylee. She also leaves behind her twin sister, Laura Matos (Dennis), and sisters Brandy Van Drume (Late Chuck), Evie Kurten (John), and Angie Butterfield (Jeff), Nilsa was also blessed with a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins who will carry her memory in their hearts for years to come. She was especially grateful for the special friends and neighbors who were truly there for her, including Rene, Ruth, and Juan, whose kindness and support meant so much to her. Nilsa was a woman who showed her love through action, and those around her always knew they could depend on her. Nilsa will be remembered as kind, loving, and adventurous. She met life with grace and determination, leaving an imprint on every life she touched. Her family and friends will remember her for her gentle nature, her steadfast devotion, and the many ways she brought people together.
