Nancy Jean Dreimiller

Nancy Jean Dreimiller (LaMarche) passed away peacefully in the early morning hours of February 1, 2024 after a brief illness. Her family had all been present in the hours preceding and were able to get one last photo together, as she wished. Her husband was beside her as she quietly passed on. Nancy was born in Glens Falls, NY on February 17, 1947 to Marion Little and Alfred LaMarche, Jr. Her mother died when Nancy was a young girl, but she was fortunate to have a loving stepmother, Alice T. Morties, four half siblings, and wonderful cousins. She married Paul Nicholas Dreimiller, Jr. on October 2, 1970 and they had five children- Paul, David, Gretchen, Jeffrey, and Jamie. Nancy lived most of her life in Loudonville, NY. Her careers ranged from being a Registered Nurse to a Certified Financial Planner. As an adult she earned her master’s degree in counseling and put it to use counseling couples preparing to marry. Nancy was acutely aware of the loss of her own mother at such a young age, and she devoted much of her life to caring for her children. She also found time to give back to her local community. She was especially proud of her time as President of the Junior League of Albany, NY. Nancy loved to travel and experience the world so she took advantage of opportunities to visit her daughter in England and Italy, and joined a church group in a tour of Ireland. In her twilight years, Nancy spent most of her time in Ocala, FL. She had a rich, busy life with friends in her community, quickly finding a group to play Rummikub with every Monday afternoon. She found many new activities to enjoy. She played shuffleboard with her husband and golf with the Duffers League. And she never turned down a chance to play games. Along with informal friend groups who met for dinner and card games, Nancy found a new love of Mahjong and a nice bunch of ladies to play with. She always looked forward to spending summers in Caroga, NY, enjoying day trips around the area, classical music concerts, and ample time boating on Lake George. In both Florida and New York, Nancy relished spending time with her doting granddaughters, Evelyn and Cordelia Bellamy.
