Michele "Mike" Valvo

Michele Valvo, age 88, passed away peacefully on March 29, 2026. He was born on March 12, 1938, in Sicily, Italy, and later made his home in Ocala, Florida. Michele lived a full and distinguished life defined by dedication, perseverance, and a deep devotion to his family. He was the proud owner of Southeastern Stone and Tile, which became a formal corporation in 1988. He was also a well-known and respected general contractor in Borough Park, New York, where he took great pride in his work and the communities he served. Through his tireless work ethic and commitment to excellence, he built a respected business that served the community for decades before retiring in 2025. He also honorably served as an Italian Marine, carrying with him a lifelong sense of strength, discipline, and resilience. Michele was a man of strong will and unwavering character, with a heart of gold. He was known as one of the hardest working men one could meet—someone who would give the clothes off his back without hesitation. He was deeply family-oriented and immensely proud of those he loved. He found great joy in life’s simple pleasures, especially his love for horses, good food, and a perfectly made cappuccino. Michele is survived by his beloved wife, Teresa Valvo; his sons and daughters-in-laws, Cesare Valvo and his wife Samantha (Sullo) Valvo, and Lorenzo Valvo and his wife Destiny (Garcia) Valvo. He was a devoted and proud grandfather to Hera Marie Valvo and Rhea Marie Valvo. He is also lovingly remembered by his former wife, Rosalie Sintatra Valvo, and their children: Michael Valvo, Richard Valvo and his wife Sandy Valvo, along with their daughter Isabella Valvo; and Danielle Hess. He was a faithful attendee of Meadowbrook Church of Ocala and Shoresh David Messianic Synagogue, where he found both spiritual grounding and community. An open-to-the-public wake will be held on Sunday, April 12th from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Roberts Funeral Home, 606 SW 2nd Ave, Ocala, FL 34471. The funeral service will take place on Monday, April 13th from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location. Burial will follow at 2:00 PM. Food and beverages will be served from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Pastor Tim Gilligan will lead the funeral service, and Pastor Sean Forte will lead the burial service. Michele Valvo will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. His legacy of strength, generosity, and devotion to family will endure for generations to come. Psalm 23 The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.
