Mark Gilbertson

Mark Stephen Gilbertson, 70, of Ocala, FL passed away unexpectedly August 9, 2024. Throughout his life he walked with the Lord, and now he is with his creator. Mark was born May 27, 1954, to parents Walter S. Gilbertson and Audrey (Quam) Klemmer, in Austin MN. The family moved to Owatonna, where he grew up and graduated from Owatonna High School in 1972. From there he went on to the University of MN. Mark began his sales career at Team Electronics as Assistant Manager. He then worked at OTC as District Sales Manager and finished his 44 year career as Market Sales Manager at Enerpac, retiring in 2019. His career took him from his hometown in Minnesota to California and finally to Texas. After his retirement he moved to Arkansas and then Florida, where he resided until he passed. He was nationally ranked in knee boarding for many years when he was younger and loved being on the water. He enjoyed kayaking, bowling, cars, music, and writing. He loved spending time with family and friends. And never missed a chance to watch an Indy car race. Mark was a friend to everyone he met. He was always encouraging and optimistic. He always wore a smile. He is survived by his three children, daughters: Bryce Gilbertson of Dallas, TX, Erin (Andy) Brose of Dodge Center, MN and son: Eric Gilbertson of Blooming Prairie, MN. Grandchildren: Victoria Gilbertson, Verlin Gilbertson, Emma Esplan and Jack Brose. His mother: Audrey Klemmer (significant other, Gene White) of Owatonna, MN; His siblings: Peggy (Rich) Frelich of Prior Lake, MN, Craig (Cindy) Gilbertson of Tampa, FL, Ron Gilbertson of Oroville, CA, Wendy Klemmer of Rochester MN, Lori (Korey) Kamholz of Owatonna, MN, Michelle Klemmer (significant other, Tim Jertson) of Fairmont, MN; and from Fayetteville, AR siblings: Wayne (Mary) Gilbertson and Sherry (Michael) Gilbertson-Thomas. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. He was preceded in death by his father: Walter Gilbertson; step-father: John Klemmer; brother: Craig Klemmer; sisters: Renee Holzapfel and Christine Schocker. Daughter-in-law: Marti Gilbertson. We will miss you forever! There will be a celebration of life held in Ocala FL on September 15, 2024 at 10 AM at the Candler Hill Community Center. And, a Celebration of Life held in Owatonna MN at New Life Community Church on October 26, 2024 at 1 PM, Pastor Joel Stauffer officiating.
