Mark Leslie Brown

Mark Leslie Brown, 62, of Ocala, Florida passed away on August 21st, 2022 at Cates Hospice House following a courageous battle with cancer. He is now in the arms of his Savior, Jesus Christ. Mark was born at Munroe Memorial Hospital in Ocala to Marcia Ferguson Brown and Ernest Lee Brown Sr. on November 24, 1959. Mark attended Forest High School graduating in 1978. He went on to earn an Associate of Science degree in Business from Central Florida Community College. While attending high school and community college Mark worked in the agriculture industry for Richard Barber Farm. He continued his education at Georgia State University in Atlanta. While attending GSU, he worked for Burch-Lowe Incorporated as a heavy equipment mechanic and crane inspector. Upon returning to Ocala in 1983, Mark built his heavy equipment repair and broker business, M.L. Brown Contractors Equipment. The company moved into its current location in 1999. Mark was active in his church and consistently supported faith-based organizations such as Helping Hands Foundation, Women’s Pregnancy Center, and Harvest International. Mark did not know a stranger and always had time for prayer, counsel, and friendship. He will be sorely missed by many. Mark is preceded in death by his father Ernest Lee Brown Sr, his mother Marcia ‘Sis’ Ferguson Brown, brother William Timothy Brown, father-in-law James Hubble, niece Kami Tyree Nichols and her two children Ian and Isaac. Mark is survived by his wife Brenda Hubble Brown, his sons Benjamin Donald Brown and David Edwin Brown, step-mother Nancy Adams Brown, sisters Linda Marie Gustashaw (David) and Marcia Lockwood Bailey, sister-in-law Rachel Brown Wilthew, step-sister Kathy Adams Phillips (Jimmy), mother-in- law Norma Hubble, brothers Ernest Lee Brown Jr (Renee), Greg G. Brown, Robert Scot Brown (Selena), David Edward Brown (Leslie), step-brother Jim Adams (Faye), 27 nieces and nephews, 47 great nieces and nephews, and 1 great great niece and 1 great great nephew. Funeral services will be held at Oxford Assembly of God in Oxford, Florida on Friday September 2nd at 11 am, Reverend Darrell Strickland officiating, with lunch following.
