Obituary of Joel TaylorJoel Kenton Taylor, 52 of Ocala, Florida passed away October 22, 2014.Born in Fort Valley, Georgia, he was a 20 year veteran of the United States Air Force retiring after 20 years of dedicated service to his country.He was known by many names, Ken, Msgt Taylor, Doc, Joele, Knight, Uncle, Cousin, Dad, Son and Gefash.Ken was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents Harold and Rosa Greer and his paternal grandparents Luther and Lillian Taylor.He is survived by his loving wife Kathy Taylor of Ocala, two sons, Kenton (Jenna) Ryan Taylor of Sebastian, Florida and Stephen Michael Taylor of Ocala, stepson Dennis David Dees of Ocala, three stepdaughters, Angelina Dees of Orlando, Florida, Amber Smith and Hannah Smith both of Ocala, his parents Luther Joel and Sandra Taylor of Port Charlotte, Florida, brother Hal (Nancy) Taylor of Cape Coral, Florida, sister Amy (Jason) Ortiz of Port Charlotte, Florida, a grandson Ryan Thomas Taylor of Sebastian, Florida and several nieces and nephews and many very dear and close friends.Ken was not a perfect man, but he was a man of integrity and of faith. He provided for, loved and cared for his family when others would not. He enjoyed laughter and found humor in almost everything he saw. He loved the laughter and hugs of children and kisses from his wife. Hugs from his mother and talks with his dad. Time spent with family and friends and the time spent with his kids.In his life he was a dishwasher, a salad prep worker, a floor sweeper, a truss maker, a student, an Air Force Medic, a computer technician, a cable technician and a teacher. Though he held many jobs over his lifetime, he loved teaching most of all, and especially teaching the word of the Lord.Ken is laid to rest not out of cowardness, but in fighting for righteousness in an unrighteous world. Proclaiming his innocence to his last breath on earth and then absolved in Heaven.Ken wrote, "I love my wife, kids, grandson and parents with all my heart. I would never do anything to harm my family. I pray that the lesson God has from this will endure in the hearts of my family. Word can hurt people".Kens desire was to be cremated with a simple ceremony.Visitation will be held from 10:00AM to 11:00AM November 1st, 2014 at the First Assembly of God Church, 1827 NE 14th Street, Ocala with Funeral Service beginning at 11:00AM.
