James Douglas Moore, known affectionately as Jim, Whack, or Groovy, left this world on December 6, 2023, surrounded by the love of his family and friends. Born on February 3, 1961, Jim's journey through life was marked by a deep affection for those who mattered most to him. Jim pursued his education at the University of Eastern Kentucky, where he honed his skills in business and finance, setting the stage for a successful career in banking with a focus on the automobile industry. Throughout his professional journey, Jim found joy in the camaraderie of friends and a shared passion for football. A devoted fan of the University of Florida Gators, Jim found great delight in cheering for his team during football games, often sharing these moments with cherished friends. Yet, above all, Jim's heart belonged to his family. His preferred titles, "Papa Jim" and "Dad," reflected the immense love and pride he felt for his wife, children, and grandchildren. Nevertheless, Jim's most cherished treasures in life encompassed his beloved wife, Lori, with whom he shared 23 years of companionship. His heart swelled with love for his children: Hilary (Billy) Jackson, Danielle (Ashton) Bordges, Corine (Blake), Alyssa (Sean) Ducker, as well as his grandchildren Baylee, Raegan, Liam, Jack, and Carson. The titles "Papa Jim" and simply "Dad" brought him boundless joy, a testament to the profound love he harbored for his family. Ashton, the son he dreamed of became a special companion for Jim. Whether attending games together or casting a line into the water, their shared moments were a testament to the deep bond they shared. Jim is survived by his siblings Beverly Harper, Carol Berglind, Russell Moore, Lisa Ruholt, Lisa (Frankie) Deluca, Debra (Eddie) Velez, John (Kelly) Wise, and his in-laws David and Michele Wise, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and a wide circle of friends. He was preceded in death by his mother Beatrice Moore Lemieux, father Russell Moore, brother Gary Moore, and nephews Herschel and Ian, whose memories he carried in his heart. In the darkest moments of sorrow, Jim's light shines through the lives of those he has saved through his organ and tissue donation. The impact of Jim’s generosity resonates through families who were granted the miracle of more time together, more laughter, and more shared moments. A gathering to remember and honor the lively life of Jim Moore is set for December 13, 2023, beginning with visitation at 4 pm at Robert’s Funeral Home (606 SW 2nd Ave, Ocala, FL 34471). Following the visitation, a celebration of life service will take place at 4:30 pm at the same location. The commemoration will be followed by a dinner at Black Sheep on Broadway at 6 pm (128 SW Broadway St, Ocala, FL 34471). As we gather to honor Jim, may the shared tales and laughter provide solace to those mourning his loss, and may his legacy of love and generosity endure in the hearts of those fortunate enough to have known him.
