With grateful hearts for a life so richly lived, the family of Terry Crawford announces his passing on July 27, 2026. While his absence leaves an immeasurable void, his legacy will continue to shape the lives of countless people and the community he loved for generations to come. There are some people whose fingerprints are quietly found across an entire community. If you look around Marion County—its hospitals, businesses, parks, airport, churches, schools, and charitable organizations—you will find Terry Crawford's influence woven throughout. He never sought recognition for those contributions. He simply believed that if something mattered, it was worth showing up for, leading well, and leaving better than he found it. Born into a family whose entrepreneurial spirit became part of Ocala's history, Terry proudly carried forward a remarkable legacy. His mother, Louise Jones Crawford, and her brother, Bobby Jones, founded Pioneer Products in 1951, beginning in their home making Cake Mate decorating products. What began around a kitchen table grew into a nationally recognized company and eventually became Signature Brands. Inspired by that same entrepreneurial spirit, Terry and his Uncle Bobby Jones founded Cominar in 1976. Under his leadership, the family-owned company grew into an internationally respected manufacturer and marketer of tabletop, gift, home décor, and housewares products headquartered in Ocala. While Conimar's products reached homes around the world, Terry remained deeply committed to American manufacturing, creating jobs, and investing in the community he called home. Although Terry achieved tremendous success in business, those who knew him best understood that people—not products—were always his greatest investment. He had an extraordinary gift for recognizing potential in others. Whether helping a young person discover the right university, introducing someone to a career opportunity, encouraging an entrepreneur, or simply offering wise counsel over coffee, Terry delighted in opening doors for others. A passionate ambassador for AdventHealth Ocala, Terry cherished serving as a champion for the hospital where he was born. He also enthusiastically recruited generations of students to his alma mater The University of Mississippi while graciously celebrating those whose paths led elsewhere. His greatest joy was simply seeing others succeed. Last year, Terry was inducted into the university’s Business School Hall of Fame. Service was never something Terry did—it was who he was. Throughout his lifetime, Terry chaired both the Munroe Regional Medical Center Foundation Board and later the AdventHealth Ocala Foundation Board, served on the University of Mississippi School of Business Advisory Board and devoted decades of leadership to organizations that strengthened Marion County including the Salvation Army. He also served on the Fort King National Landmark project, provided leadership to the Boy Scouts of America both locally and nationally, and was honored to serve for more than 50 years on the Ocala International Airport Advisory Board. An avid pilot, Terry's love of flying reflected his adventurous spirit, optimism, and appreciation for the freedom found above the clouds. His faith was the foundation upon which every other part of his life rested. As a devoted member of First Baptist Church of Ocala, Terry quietly lived his faith through generosity, humility, compassion, and service. He never met a stranger and had an uncanny ability to make people feel seen, valued, and encouraged. Above every professional accomplishment stood the people he loved most. Terry shared many wonderful years with his beloved late wife, Connie, whose memory remained forever close to his heart. He was grateful to later share life's journey with his loving wife, Cindy, embracing this new chapter with joy, gratitude, and unwavering devotion. He was the proud father of his beloved late son, Mitchell and an adoring 'Pops' to his cherished granddaughter, Paige Crawford, grandson Chase and their mother Tara. He is also survived by his sister Reidi Lott and Cindy’s children whom he considered as his own – son Michael Nabers, his wife Michelle and grandson Weston; son Scott Nabers; and daughter Heather Fatigate and her children Hailey and Cross Fatigate. The measure of Terry's life cannot be found in titles or accomplishments alone. It is found in every life he encouraged, every friendship he treasured, every organization he strengthened, every opportunity he created for someone else, and every act of quiet generosity that often went unnoticed. His legacy lives on through the companies he built, the institutions he served, and the countless people who are better because Terry Crawford believed in them.
