Obituary for Esmeralda James Simpson Esmeralda was born on March 28, 1949 in Retrieve, Hanover, Jamaica W.I to the late, Icelyn Miller and Egland James. Esmeralda is the 6th sibling child Martha (deceased), John, Gracie (deceased), George, Blanche, Lillie Rose and Margaret. She was called to glory to start her new beginning on the 8th day of Nisan (Jewish Calendar) at 2:40pm or the 21 Day of March 2021 at Ocala Regional Medical Center. She attended Sandy Bay Primary School. She learned to sew at an early age from her mother Icelyn, who was a professional seamstress in the community. She was raised by her sister Martha from 1 year and 6 months. She was a bright child. She is an extremely fast learner and a hard worker. She gave birth to 11 beautiful children, Neville, Marie (deceased), Phylicia (deceased), Ruth, Jenese, Cenia, Curtis, Samuel, Zanu (deceased), Melissa and Jessica. Esmeralda met Curtis Simpson Sr. in 1973 and they got married on July 15, 1975. She migrated to Brooklyn, NY September 23, 1985 to join her husband and Sister Gracie who sponsored her. Soon after, she started to work at Backer Spiel Vogel. She worked and made sure not to leave any of her children behind. She taught her children to be always independent. Later she decided to return to school to study to become a nurse. After completion of her studies, she worked at NYU Health Center. She moved to Ocala, Florida on December 15, 2001, where she worked in the medical field at several institutions after which she started her own business. Esme Home, LLC was established in 2007. Esmeralda enjoyed taking care of people. She had a BIG heart. She felt that she was placed on this earth to do God's work. Every moment she was able to bless someone she did. She would give you the last dollar she has. Esmeralda leaves to cherish her memories, Husband Curtis Simpson Sr., living Children Neville and wife Joy, Dr. Ruth Parkin-Edwin and husband William Edwin, Jenese, Cenia and husband Patrice Paul, Curtis Jr and wife Erica, Samuel and girlfriend Atianna Powell, Melissa, and Jessica and husband Diddley Weche. Grandchildren: Richard Wood and wife Shvadre, Latoya Richards, Gelena Alexander, Omar Paul and Wife Esther, Clariss Simpson, Jovana Wood, Brandon Paul, Felicia Simpson, Sade Alexander, Nathaniel Wood, Wade Edwin, Dante Simpson, Shawn Simpson, Ethan Paul, Jabari Hall, Warren Edwin, Mariah Weche, Donovan Ramos Weche, Gabriella Paul, and Zaire Simpson. Great Grandchildren; Anaiyah James (Latoya), Gabriel Vasquez (Clariss), Hollis Wood (Richard) and Mason Esson (Latoya). Brothers John Marshall, George Gilead, sisters: Blanche Miller, Lillie Rose Gilead, and Margaret Scarlett. Several nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and whole host of friends from community near and far. And Individuals that she extended a helping hand to.
