Obituary of Eileen SipherEILEEN B. SYPHER, 73Eileen B. Sypher, 73, of Ocala, passed away Monday, March 10th, 2014. Eileen was born in Brooklyn, NY, on February 4th, 1941. She spent her early years in Bay Ridge, then Hicksville and Baldwin, NY, through her school years. Eileen graduated high school at Queen of The Rosary Academy in Amityville and attended Oswego State University. Eileen married her childhood sweetheart Alan at age 20. They vacationed in Florida several years later and "got sand in their shoes," eventually moving to Plantation, FL, where they resided for 38 years. Having a love of nature and the rolling terrain, they moved to Ocala in 2005. Eileen and Al became parents to two sons, Todd Russell Sypher and Glenn Thomas Sypher. Following the birth of Todd, Eileen enjoyed her role as a loving "stay-at-home" mom. She then became a very active Mom, supporting both sons in their athletic endeavors as members of various Plantation Athletic League teams. She and her husband Alan enjoyed travel, primarily throughout the United States with her favorite place being the beautiful mountain town of Vail, Colorado, and they celebrated their 50th anniversary year by journeying to see Alaska's beauty. She and her husband would have celebrated their 53rd anniversary in early May. She is survived by her husband, sons Todd, of Tamarac, FL and Glenn and his wife Mindy, of Charlotte, NC. She is also survived by her sisters Barbara and Noreen, half-sister Carol, and brothers James and Neal, several nieces and nephews, and their children. She was preceded in death by her mother Sarah Agnes Osborne, her father George Osborne and brothers Christopher and Daniel. Eileen was a loving, caring person, very soft spoken, who quietly helped others. She loved to read, amassing a book collection in the many hundreds over the years, most of which she donated to Marion County's Friends of the Public Library so that others may enjoy as well. A memorial service will be held at Roberts Funeral Home, 6241 SW State Road 200, Ocala, FL at 3 PM, this Saturday, March 15th.
