Eddy Phillip

Our family is saddened to announce the passing of Eddy Phillip, 73, of Ocala, FL. He passed away on Monday, January 2nd, 2023, after a challenging battle with kidney failure. Eddy was born on August 1st, 1949, to Joseph and Ruby Phillip in San Fernando, Trinidad, and Tobago. As a very young man, he took on a career as a painter and construction worker. His work ethic and experience as a builder were second to none. There was nothing he could not build, fix, or put back together better than new. His expertise, wisdom, and ability to improvise made him a true master of all trades. Eddy and Lucy got married in 1979 and went on to have children and grandchildren. Eddy was a force of nature, determined to provide for his family and give them the life he felt they deserved. His family meant more to him than anything else in the world. He was unendingly proud of his wife, children, and grandchildren and always did everything he could to support them. He would sacrifice all he was and all he had without any complaint. Eddy was passionate about his culture as a Trinidadian. Nothing he enjoyed more than his country's food, music, and dance (and he can dance!). A good lime (Hangout) with plenty of "ole talk" and jokes. He had the most amazing smile and loved to laugh. Simple pleasures made him the happiest. Spending time with family, watching cowboy movies, and listing to music Anyone who knew Eddy knew that he was a quiet and contemplative man with few words and a big heart. He will be missed by all who knew him.
