DELTA GREENE'S OBITUARY "O praise the Lord, all ye nations: praise him, all ye people. For his merciful kindness is great toward us: and the truth of the Lord endureth for ever. Praise ye the Lord." psalm 117 Delta Cascilda ("Cassie" "Ms. Cassie") Greene passed away at the age of 92 on October 5, 2024, in Ocala Florida. Delta was born in Mount Peace, Hanover Parish, Jamaica. She later immigrated to America and became a U.S. citizen. Her drive, hard work, and the passion she poured into everything she did inspired her family, friends and others who knew her. She was an amazing, multi-talented woman. A self-taught, professional seamstress, her dedication to excellence landed her steady work at New York's famous Plaza Hotel. Always pushing herself to be better, her family witnessed firsthand her determination as she spent countless hours perfecting her craft while holding down numerous jobs. She even attended fashion and design school at night while raising three kids on her own. Her faith in God allowed her to tirelessly push through those freezing cold and snowy New York winters to get to school at nights. She relied on her God-given instincts and an uncanny ability to "eyeball" everything from clothing measurements to cooking. Her memory was her recipe book. We were always blessed to enjoy her delicious home-cooked Caribbean meals. Mom had a very entrepreneurial spirit. She sold products from her home store. She later became a caregiver and nanny for a few Hollywood celebrities. She had a tremendous love for the arts. The whole family would participate in several church plays and music ministry performances. Delta's love for the outdoors and simple country living was the reason why she moved to Ocala, Florida from Brooklyn, New York. Her passion for gardening and growing her own food reconnected her to her roots. When she retired her love for gardening increased. Above all these things, her love for God was unwavering, unmeasurable and deeply rooted... We love you and dearly miss you, mom, "Cassie", "Miss Cassie", our pillar of strength. She is survived by her daughter Barbara, her daughter Jennifer, her son Gordon, her sister Mrs. Ronicha Gordon, her sister Ms. Veronica Brissette, her daughter in-law, Temple, her son-in-law, John, her grandchildren Anthony, Chris, Kristian, Arielle and three great grandchildren and her niece, Patricia Smith, her sister Mrs. Ronicha Gordon, her sister Ms. Veronica Brissette, her daughter-in-law, Temple, son-in-law, John, grandchildren, Anthony, Chris, Kristian, Arielle and great grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at Roberts Funeral Home chapel on Saturday, October 19th, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. Finally resting in your heavenly Father's arms! Hallelujah!
