Obituary of Charles MillerMr. Charles Wayne Miller, 72, of Ocala, FL went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, August 21, 2012 at the Legacy Hospice House in Ocala Florida. Wayne was born on January 17, 1940, in Grover Hill, Ohio to parents, Charles (Willie) and Barbara A. (Funk) Miller. He was an administrative director of clinical laboratories with Tenet Health Care, working in Kirksville, MO and New Orleans, LA. He moved to Gulfport, MS, taking a job as Director of Laboratories at Biloxi Regional Hospital. He was in the Army Reserve Medic Corps, retiring as a Sgt. Major after 25 years of service. He was the proud recipient of the Army Commendation Medal, the Humanitarian Service Medal, the Army Achievement Medal with Oak Leaf Cluster, and especially proud of the St Louis Globe Soldier of the Year Award. Wayne graduated from Elkhart University in 1959 with a Certificate in Medical Technology. Later, in 1984, he completed his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration/Personnel Management from Truman State University. On April 5th, 1980 in Kirksville, Missouri he married Donna Nichols. He was a member of the former Grover Hill Church of Christ. He belonged to the Masons, Shriners, Lions Club and Red Cross. He loved hunting, fishing and antique cars. He was preceded in death by his father, his father-in-law, Dale Nichols; brother, Kevin N. Miller; brother-in-law, Jim Yahn; niece, Victoria Yahn; and nephew, Nicholas Spilker. He will be greatly missed by those who survive him, including his wife, Donna Miller of Ocala; his son, Collin Wayne (Brittany) of Biloxi, MS; daughter, Saricca (Jason) Taunton of Gulfport, MS; mother, Barbara Miller of Lady Lake, FL; grandson, Christian Ashford of Gulfport, MS; brother, Duane Kent (Gloria) Miller of The Villages, FL.; sister, Marlene (Doug) Foss of Ohio City, OH. A memorial service will be held on Sept. 29, 2012, at 11 a.m. at Roberts Funeral Homes Bruce Chapel West, 6241 SW 200, Ocala, FL. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Legacy House, 9505 SW 110th Street, Ocala, FL 34481 in Wayne's honor.
