Obituary of Albina RhoadesAlbina Scott Rhoades, known to friends and family as Allie, died peacefully on Friday, October 19, 2012 at Sylvia's Hospice House in Ocala.Allie was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Allie was 88. Allie was born in Holyoke, Massachusetts on April 20, 1924. She graduated from Women's Commercial High School in Brooklyn and married John Scott in 1947. They moved to North Babylon, NY in 1953. There they raised their four children, Jack, Barbara, Pamela and Cindy. Allie and John moved to Daytona Beach in 1972 where she became active in Methodist Church activities and ministries. Through the church, Allie assisted victims of Hurricane Andrew and helped the homeless with Halifax Urban Ministries. She was an avid gardener and a fantastic dancer. After husband John's death in 1994, she married Benjamin "Bud" Rhoades. Together they enjoyed many years in active retirement traveling. Moving to Ocala in 2004, Allie joined Ocala First United Methodist Church and enjoyed bible study and other church events. She had many friends and was warm and very outgoing person full of life. Allie is survived by her son Jack Scott of Palm Beach Gardens, daughters, Barbara Noeker of Ocala, Pamela Burress of Winston-Salem, North Carolina, and Cindy Holland of Tallahassee. Allie had six grandchildren whom she loved very much and who will miss her, Adrienne Pellegrino and Brian Noeker of Ocala, Katherine Burress, of Toronto, Canada, Aaron and Sarah Meftah of Tallahassee and Peter Scott of Palm Beach Gardens. In addition Allie has four great-grandchildren: Denise and Anthony Pelligrino, Garret and Dalton Noeker all from Ocala. Allie is survived by her brother John Romanek and sisters Jeanette (Bunny) Shaw and Paula Sheridan. A memorial service will be held at the Ocala First United Methodist Church on Thursday, October 25, 2012, at 11 a.m. with Dr. John Few officiating. Light refreshments to follow at the church.
