Tommy Kenneth Holton

Tommy Kenneth Holton, 88, of Ocala, Florida, passed away on April 17, 2022, in Ocala, Florida. Tom was the eighth of nine children and was born in Gainesville, FL on June 24, 1933, to Laborne Jesse and Celia Elizabeth Dampier Holton. He graduated from Gainesville High in 1953 and after serving in the Army went on to earn a Master's degree in Health and Human Services from the University of Florida. Tom enjoyed a long 40-year career as a Director for the Marion County School Board. He enjoyed gardening, camping, being a Florida Gator, and spending time with his family. Tom was a distinguished alumni of the University of Florida for his contributions and involvement in physical education and recreation. Tom is survived by his wife of 63 years, Mary Holton of Ocala, children, Ken (wife Michelle) Holton and Cindy Hutto, grandchildren Michael Holton, Tyler (wife Shawnee) Holton and Kacey Hutto and his brother Robert Holton. He is preceded in death by his daughter, Debbie Holton, seven siblings (three sisters and four brothers) and his parents. Tom was an educator at heart and cared deeply for those in his life. He would offer to help in any way that he could and take time to answer a question or solve a problem, no matter how small. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends. His Celebration of Life service will be held at Roberts of Ocala Funerals and Cremations at 606 SW 2nd Ave, Ocala, FL 34471 on May 21, 2022, at 3:00pm.
