Mr. Oscar Buck Johnson

June 15, 1935 - May 8, 2018

Mr. Oscar Buck Johnson gained his angel wings on May 8, 2018 at the young age of 82. He was born June 15, 1935 in Sumpter, South Carolina to parents Mr. Ethan Johnson and Mrs. Luida Conyers Johnson, both who preceded him in death. Oscar attended Rosenwald school in Darlington, South Carolina, and was a resident of the Bronx, NY for over 60 years. Cars were a major part of Oscar's life. He worked at Victor's Autobody Shop for over 25 years where he as a Master Mechanic, and an autobody and fender specialist. He was one of five siblings. Hazel J Hopkins of Williamsburg, VA, Jack Johnson of Society Hill, SC, Jimmy (Ann) Johnson of Bronx, NY, and Bessie Coleman who also preceded him in death. Oscar was united in marriage to Diane Arlene Gaylord Johnson who predeceased him just two months ago. Oscar will always be remembered for his love of family, his work ethic, and his love of cars. He was a real handy man around the house. Anytime something was broke, Oscar was there to fix it. He was also the greatest father that his children could have asked for. In his spare time Oscar enjoyed Army and Western movies, Baseball (Go Yankees), and playing his numbers. All those who knew him knew how he loved his family and cars. If Oscar did something, he set his mind to be the best at it. Oscar leaves to cherish his memory Cindy (Anthony) Johnson Graham, Joann Toye (Leroy) Johnson Williams, Phyllise (Glenroy) Simpson. Hazel Johnson, Bobby Johnson, and one son Oscar Johnson Jr. who preceded him in death. One Uncle Archie Montgomery, One Aunt Pansey Conyers, One sister-in-law Daisy Davis, 6 Grandchildren: Jason, Tyrone, Kevin, Olympia, Eton, and Keith. 11 Great Grand Children, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends.
