Mary Ann Buonagurio
June 20, 1943 - April 20, 2022
On April 20, 2022, the world sadly lost a beacon of shining light, but Heaven grew a little brighter when it welcomed Mary Ann Buonagurio. Having fought a valiant battle with cancer for over four courageous years, she went home to be with the Lord while surrounded by family in Jacksonville, Florida. Countless many will miss her deeply, but none more than her husband Stanley, her son Patrick, and her three lovely daughters, Regina, Stasia, and Helena. For 78 years, Mary Ann was a smiling face and a selfless giver to everyone she knew. She spent most of her life in the northeast, and enjoyed her retirement in Ocala. There was nothing she cherished more than being able to spend time with and love on her 8 grandchildren, Victoria, Mark Patrick, Matthew Jr., Zoe Emily, Grayciella, Gabriel, Christian, and Cayleb, spanning 30 years between them all. Even though her family is spread out across the country, she has always been the loving force that brought everyone together and gave love unconditionally, with a razor-sharp mothers instinct to who needed her and when. Known as Mary Ann to so many, she was also affectionately known as 'Reka' to those closest to her, an accidental nickname coined by her granddaughter. A true lover of Jesus and a firm believer in forgiveness, she was an inspiration of faith to so many. She will forever be missed, but we celebrate the reunion we know she is having in Heaven with so many that have gone before her, especially her baby boy Robert Joseph. We love you Reka, and we can't wait to see you again. A visitation will be held on Thursday, April 28, 2022, from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. at Roberts of Ocala Downtown Chapel, 606 SW 2nd Avenue, Ocala, FL 34471. A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, April 29, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Theresa Catholic Church in Belleview, Florida. Arrangements are entrusted to Roberts of Ocala Funerals and Cremations.
