Wilbert Gladstone Scarlett died peacefully on May 1, 2018 in Ocala, Florida.
He was born on October 21, 1937 in St. Elizabeth, Jamaica the son of Reginald Horatio and Jane La Meta (Lawrence) Scarlett. As a young man, he travelled to the U.K. where he met and soon after, married the love of his life: Jerolene Simms Barnes. They recently celebrated multiple decades together on their wedding anniversary on August 18, 2017.
Wilbert was a loyal and dedicated member and Deacon of the Silver Springs Shores SDA Church who previously served in the same capacity in the Saving Grace of Hollywood SDA church, formerly known as Pem-Mar SDA Church.
He truly believed and lived the saying, “Be wise as a serpent and harmless as a dove.”
In addition to his parents, he was pre-deceased by his loving wife Jerolene, son Seymour, grandson Devland, brothers Leon, Stanley and Rupert and sister Sylvia.

His children; Nigel, Sharon, Leon and their spouses.
Many grandchildren including Nina, Philip, Tameasha, Carmita, Demoya, Jodi, Ricardo, Syenna, Hallel, Akeelah, Karleah, Serena, Kaylee and Nigel Junior, to name a few…
Several great grandchildren including Carter and many more,
His brothers: Vincent, Humphrey, Derrick, Danny, Noel,
His Sisters: Rita and Hazel.
He also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, grand-nephews, great-grand nieces, great-grand nephews, and countless friends, other family members and well-wishers.
Wilbert Gladstone Scarlett has lived a full and blessed life. His soul rests in peace as he awaits the first resurrection; when God shall call the righteous unto eternal life in the Kingdom of God. Let us all strive to be in the glorious first resurrection and to meet Wilbert on the banks of the beautiful river.
