James Kemp Lewis, 73, went home to be with the Lord on July 30, 2019 surrounded by his family at home in Ocala, Fl. Jim was born in Garrett, Indiana to William and Jane Lewis on February 3, 1946. After growing up together as childhood friends, Jim and Cheryl were married in 1965 and remained together for 53 beautiful years. Jim was a man who loved to work with his hands, building computers and creating custom, hand-made fishing rods. He was an avid bass fisherman who had the patience of Job on the water. Music was an essential part of Jim’s life. Playing the bass guitar since age 11, from bars to outdoor venues to over 25 years of praising on the worship team. A ruthless board game player who took no mercy on his grandkids! Jim is survived by his wife Cheryl, daughter Sherri, grand-daughters Alexis and Shawna and great-grandchildren Ainsley, Isaac and Asher. Thank you to Hospice of Marion County for making his last moments at home peaceful.
